My client is a specialist technology consultancy delivering highly secure cloud and infrastructure solutions across Australia and New Zealand. Their work spans commercial and government environments, including high-security and classified platforms, with a strong focus on secure cloud, edge computing, and resilient infrastructure.
Due to continued project demand, we are seeking a TSPV-cleared Systems Engineer to support a small, secure on-site environment in Canberra. This role is well suited to someone who enjoys hands-on system administration, infrastructure sustainment, and working closely with senior technical stakeholders in a low-noise, high-trust environment.
The Role
You will be responsible for the day-to-day operation and sustainment of a secure IT environment, working on-site and collaborating closely with senior engineers and technical leadership. There is exposure to emerging security and cross-domain technologies, alongside traditional Windows-based infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day technical support for a secure on-site IT environment
- Administer Windows server environments, including user and access management
- Monitor system health, verify backups, and perform routine maintenance
- Troubleshoot applications, including search and indexing tools
- Maintain system documentation, procedures, and asset registers
- Prepare and deliver monthly system health reports
- Manage hardware inventory and lifecycle tracking
- Support occasional after-hours or weekend maintenance activities
- Participate in regular stakeholder and internal technical assurance meetings
- Escalate and collaborate with senior engineers on complex issues and improvements
Essential
- Current TSPV security clearance
- Strong experience in Windows system administration
- Working knowledge of networking fundamentals (LAN switching, media converters, basic troubleshooting)
- Experience with storage technologies (SAN/NAS)
- Ability to produce clear documentation and concise reports
- Strong communication skills and ability to work autonomously
- Exposure to Linux administration
- Experience with Elasticsearch or similar indexing/reporting tools
- Familiarity with Defence ICT environments or DISP-aligned operations
- Interest in emerging security technologies, including cross-domain and insider risk platforms
- Permanent, full-time role with on-site presence in Canberra
