Role Title: Transition Assurance Analyst
Contract Length: 12 months
Daily Rate: Up to $780 + Super for the right candidate
Location: Brisbane preferred (Sydney maybe considered)
Start Date: Ideally Monday 15th June

We’re partnering with a major financial services organisation undergoing a significant divestment program. As part of this transition, we’re seeking a Transition Assurance Analyst to support operational risk, quality assurance, and day‑to‑day risk activities across a large, multi‑stream program. This role sits within a small, collaborative risk team and is ideal for someone with  3-5 years of operational risk exposure and thrives in structured, process‑driven environments. You don’t need deep risk advisory experience, just strong fundamentals, curiosity, and the ability to get things done.

Role Specification
There are Transitional Services Agreements (TSAs) spanning up to 5 years. These TSAs cover a range of business and IT services, to facilitate the seamless divestment. You will conduct and analyse quality and control assurance activities with a focus on identifying areas for improvement in risk and compliance practices. Responsible for risk management and assurance activities across the business unit. Robust internal and external stakeholder management will be critical to ensure success in this role. Proactively improve and simplify quality and risk assurance practices through the following activities:

Quality and Control Assurance:
 
  • Conduct internal quality and control assurance audits to ensure compliance with regulatory and commercial obligations, including investigation of quality-related incidents and non-conformance, including key risks, controls and processes to ensure risk is managed within appetite.
  • Develop corrective and preventative action plans to address identified issues.
  • Provide analysis and reporting on TSA specific and/or consolidated views of risk and assurance activities impacting the Business Unit
  • Collaborate with Transition team to support end-to-end assurance planning.
  • Ensure compliance with organisational policies, procedures, and any other relevant laws and regulatory requirements, providing oversight of quality and control assurance outcomes.
  • Ensure all assurance processes are documented, monitored, and audited regularly.
  • Support the development and implementation of metrics and KPIs to monitor the quality of services.
  • Prepare inputs for governance and other decision-making forums on quality and control assurance outcomes, highlighting areas for improvement.
  • Analysis of incidents and business processes and where required make recommendations to strengthen the control environment.
  • Completing ad-hoc work as required to support the delivery of strategic objectives.

Partnering and Continuous Improvement:
  • Build positive collaborative relationships with the team and our customers.
  • Proactively advocate for the desired risk and compliance culture and support ‘Bank Transition’ in improving risk capability and maturity.
  • Provide clarity around process and timeframes, while identifying areas of improvement to ensure we are providing our stakeholders with a high-quality, timely experience.
  • Assist with building risk and compliance capabilities to improve the productivity of risk management.
  • Obtaining specialist advice from key stakeholders across Technology and Operations to support deliverables and build knowledge and maturity of risk management.
  • Identify automated solutions where possible to reduce cost and ensure an improved customer experience.

Person Specification Key job requirements  
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in a related discipline (business, IT, risk, compliance) (desired)
Experience (minimum type and level of experience required to perform the role)
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a risk or compliance role (within an APRA regulated environment) managing stakeholder relationships at varying levels.
  • Sound knowledge of risk management methodologies and practices, and their application
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in conducting technology related assurance activities
