About the role
We are seeking an experienced Test Analyst (Data Migration) to support a critical system transformation program within a large, complex State Government environment. This role plays a key part in ensuring the accuracy, integrity and quality of data being migrated from legacy platforms into a modern digital solution.
You will work closely with technical teams, vendors and business stakeholders to validate both structured and unstructured data, identify discrepancies, and provide confidence that migrated data meets agreed quality standards.
What you will be doing
- Developing and executing data migration test plans, test cases and test scripts
- Performing detailed validation of:
- Structured data migrated from CRM 2016 databases to Dynamics 365 Dataverse
- Documents migrated from SharePoint 2013 to SharePoint Online
- Validating data completeness, accuracy and alignment with business and technical requirements
- Identifying, documenting and tracking data defects and discrepancies
- Collaborating with developers, data migration specialists and business stakeholders to resolve issues
- Executing test cycles and producing clear, detailed test reports to support delivery decision-making
- Identifying risks related to data quality and migration activities and contributing to mitigation strategies
- Supporting continuous improvement of data migration testing processes and methodologies
- 3–5+ years’ experience in test analyst roles with a strong focus on data migration testing
- Demonstrated experience developing and executing data migration test plans and scripts
- Strong analytical skills with proven ability to identify and resolve data issues
- Solid experience using SQL for data validation and querying
- Knowledge of data migration methodologies and best practices
- Experience working in large-scale, complex enterprise environments
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across technical and non-technical stakeholders
- High attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality outcomes
- Experience testing Dynamics 365 / Dataverse implementations
- Hands-on experience with SharePoint migration projects
- Exposure to government or highly regulated environments
- ISTQB Foundation or Advanced certification
- Tertiary qualifications in IT, Data, or a related field
