About the role
We are seeking an experienced Technology Business Analyst to join a major Technology Simplification Program focused on migrating accounts from a legacy core banking platform to a modern internal system. This role sits within the Cash and Transactional Banking team and will play a critical part in delivering end-to-end solutions for this transformation.
What you will be doing
- Work closely with multiple business and technology teams to gather, analyse and document requirements.
- Develop functional specifications and user stories, ensuring clarity and alignment with project objectives.
- Support testing activities throughout the delivery lifecycle, including test case reviews and root cause analysis.
- Contribute to backlog management and dashboard creation using Jira and Confluence.
- Identify and manage RAID items to mitigate risks and ensure smooth delivery.
- Act as a delivery catalyst – dissect requirements into patterns that technical teams can build from, rather than being the primary owner of requirements.
- 10+ years’ experience across Business Analysis, Technical Analysis and Data Analysis.
- Proven ability to engage and collaborate with diverse stakeholders across business and technology functions.
- Strong understanding of banking infrastructure (preferably mainframe) and technical environments.
- Tertiary qualifications in Business, Information Technology or equivalent experience.
- Deep knowledge of both Waterfall and Agile methodologies, with hands-on experience in end-to-end Agile delivery.
- Expertise in writing Functional Specification Documents and eliciting User Stories with acceptance criteria.
- Exceptional communication, requirements analysis, technical analysis and documentation skills.
- High adaptability and flexibility to thrive in a fast-paced, complex environment with multiple streams and sub-streams.
- Proficiency in Jira and Confluence, including backlog and dashboard management.
- Ability to work under pressure, self-guided and accountable in a large-scale program environment.
- Knowledge of Cash and Transactional Banking products.
- Experience with core banking systems and industry best practices.
- Understanding of business architecture supporting core banking platforms.
- Migration experience within banking or financial services.
- Strong personality and confidence to handle face-to-face workshops with multiple teams.
