Systems Safety Engineer 
6 Month contract 
NV1 Clearance

Are you an experienced System Safety practitioner looking to make a real contribution to a complex, high-integrity program? We're seeking a skilled  System Safety Engineer  to join our team and deliver critical safety outcomes across the full program lifecycle.

This is an opportunity to work on technically demanding programs where your expertise in safety analysis, hazard management, and stakeholder engagement will be central to program success.
About the role

Reporting to the Program Safety Lead, you will provide hands-on System Safety support across all program phases. Your key responsibilities will include:
  • Maintaining and updating the System Safety Program Plan (SSPP)
  • Contributing to the development and ongoing refinement of the safety case
  • Conducting system safety analyses and delivering associated safety artifacts, including the OSHA and HHA, in line with schedule
  • Reviewing supplier safety analyses and managing associated liaison activities
  • Maintaining and managing the hazard tracking system
  • Planning, coordinating and facilitating system safety working groups
  • Supporting design reviews throughout the program lifecycle
  • Identifying, reporting and managing risks using defined processes
  • Providing regular status updates and effort estimates for assigned tasks
  • Contributing to program milestones and adhering to the system safety engineering process
What you'll bring
  • Degree qualification in a relevant engineering discipline, or equivalent industry experience
  • Minimum 4 years of hands-on experience in system safety engineering
  • Current Australian Government Negative Vetting Level 1 (NV1) security clearance
  • Australian citizenship (required for clearance eligibility)
  • Sound knowledge of Australian workplace health and safety legislation
  • Demonstrated experience conducting safety analysis and delivering safety deliverables (OSHA, HHA, hazard logs)
  • Strong written communication skills with the ability to produce clear, concise safety documentation
  • Experience working in structured engineering environments with defined safety processes
  • Ability to work collaboratively with program teams, suppliers and stakeholders
