6 Months Contract
An immediate opportunity for an experienced Senior Systems Engineer to join a high-profile defence program through to October 2026. The role is embedded with the Commonwealth at Edinburgh, providing senior-level systems engineering services across requirements, integration, verification and validation.
What you’ll be doing
- Develop, deliver and maintain Functional Baseline (FBL), Allocated Baseline (ABL) and Interface Requirement Specifications (IRS) in DOORS, including full requirements traceability across a holistic DOORS database
- Perform system design activities including trade studies to ensure architectural compatibility and consistency across all subsystems against performance requirements
- Conduct V&V activities — writing procedures, inspection and analysis reports, and conducting or witnessing demonstration and test events
- Develop and maintain Verification Cross Reference Matrix (VCRM) parts 1 and 2 for FBL, ABL and IRS specifications in DOORS
- Develop and manage Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs) and Requests for Problem Resolution (RPRs) to support pre-engineered change packages
- Participate in working groups to coordinate ship infrastructure design and installation
- Prepare and deliver documentation, presentations and review materials for System Reviews
- Degree qualification in a relevant engineering discipline, or equivalent industry experience
- Minimum 4 years of relevant systems engineering experience
- Demonstrated hands-on competency with DOORS — a non-negotiable for this role
- Practical knowledge of relevant programs and systems with the ability to apply and enhance that knowledge in daily delivery
