Our client are a large state government organisation based in Brisbane who deliver essential public services across Queensland. Due to a critical project, they are looking for a systems administrator to work across their Vulnerability uplift project team and be responsible for patching and upgrading their IT infrastructure.

What you will be doing:
  • Fix security issues by applying patches, updating systems, and making configuration changes.
  • Manage the full process of fixing vulnerabilities - planning the work, getting approvals, testing, and rolling out changes.
  • Help design automated patching methods that meet Essential 8 requirements.
  • Set up automated tools to regularly deploy operating system and application updates across servers, computers, and IoT devices.
  • Use Group Policy, Intune, or scripts to fix configuration problems across servers, workstations, mobiles, and IoT devices.
About You:
  • Around 5+ years working in IT Operations, Systems Administration, or similar technical roles.
  • Hands-on experience setting up and supporting a mix of infrastructure such as Windows Servers, Active Directory, SQL clusters, Commvault, Group Policy, VMware, mobile devices, and IoT devices.
  • Experience managing Intune, Azure Update Manager, and server monitoring tools.
  • Good understanding of ITIL or similar IT service management practices.
  • Recent experience working on vulnerability management in large or complex environments (enterprise, corporate, or government).
