Junior IT Infrastructure & Cybersecurity Technologist
Location: Canberra, ACT
Clearance: NV1 Security Clearance (or ability to obtain)
Type: Full-time | Flexible Work Environment

I'm currently working with a well-established software development company that delivers investigative case management solutions to clients across law enforcement, regulatory, and national security sectors. They’re looking to bring a Junior IT Infrastructure & Cybersecurity Technologist into their Canberra-based team.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone early in their tech career who’s looking to develop hands-on skills across cloud infrastructure, security, and systems management in a flexible, close-knit environment. You’ll be joining a small team that values collaboration, curiosity, and continuous learning — with plenty of room to grow.

What You’ll Do

  • Manage, secure, and maintain a range of internal and customer-facing infrastructure.
  • Support a wide array of technologies including:
    • Microsoft Azure: Azure SQL, VMs, vNets, Firewalls, App Services, Sentinel.
    • Microsoft 365 & Intune, including associated security tools.
    • Windows Domains and related server infrastructure.
    • Physical hardware: desktops, servers, storage arrays, networking gear.
  • Assist with the deployment and maintenance of software environments across development and production.
  • Monitor system health, availability, and security posture.
  • Contribute to cybersecurity processes and incident response activities.
  • Work closely with developers and the CTO on maintaining and improving infrastructure standards and practices.
About You You’re a curious and adaptable problem-solver with a keen interest in IT infrastructure and cybersecurity. You thrive in a small team setting and are eager to learn and grow your technical skills. You can follow direction but also take initiative when needed.

To be successful, you’ll need:
  • Some hands-on experience (professional or personal) with cloud, infrastructure, or security tools.
  • A solid conceptual understanding of IT systems, networks, and security principles.
  • A willingness to learn and take ownership of new challenges.
  • Australian citizenship and the ability to obtain (or already hold) an NV1 security clearance.

Why You’ll Want to Join
  • Meaningful work supporting national security, law enforcement, anti-corruption, and regulatory agencies through impactful software solutions.
  • Supportive, close-knit team where your contributions are visible and valued.
  • Flexible work environment, including casual office culture and work-life balance.
  • Opportunities for growth with flexibility to develop your role based on your interests and strengths.
  • Hands-on experience across a wide range of technologies – from cloud infrastructure to cybersecurity – in real-world environments.
  • Mentorship and learning directly from experienced technologists and the CTO, in a setting that encourages knowledge sharing and professional development.
