Sourcing and Procurement Specialist
Canberra | Consulting Pathway | $130K–$180K package (pending experience)
Our client is growing and seeking several experienced sourcing and procurement specialists of varying levels to support a strong pipeline of federal government work. This is an ideal opportunity for someone with government procurement experience who is ready to step into a consulting environment and contribute across strategic sourcing initiatives and complex delivery programs.
About the role
You’ll work with a variety of federal clients, advising on and delivering sourcing strategies, tender development, evaluation processes, and contract management. The role will see you work closely with internal consultants and government stakeholders to ensure compliance, value for money, and practical procurement outcomes in line with Commonwealth frameworks.
You’ll have the opportunity to shape delivery outcomes while developing your consulting toolkit—working across multiple accounts in a supportive and collaborative team environment.
What you’ll be doing
- Deliver end-to-end procurement activities in line with Commonwealth procurement rules and policy
- Develop sourcing strategies, procurement plans, RFx documentation, and evaluation methodologies
- Support tender processes, vendor negotiations, and contract drafting
- Provide practical procurement and probity advice to clients and project teams
- Manage documentation and reporting aligned to governance and compliance standards
- Contribute to capability uplift internally and across client engagements
- Engage directly with stakeholders at all levels and support multiple concurrent projects
- Experience in federal government procurement or sourcing roles, ideally in mid-to-senior level positions
- Solid knowledge of CPRs, PGPA Act, and federal procurement practices
- Excellent writing and communication skills, with strong attention to detail
- Comfortable operating in structured, high-accountability environments
- Interested in consulting and able to build trusted relationships with clients
- Australian Citizenship required (security clearance desirable)
