We are seeking an experienced Infrastructure Solutions Architect to lead the design and delivery of enterprise-scale technology solutions, with a strong focus on cloud transformation and hybrid infrastructure.
This role is responsible for defining and executing architecture strategies that enable the migration of on-premises environments to Microsoft Azure, ensuring scalable, secure, and cost-effective solutions aligned to business outcomes.
You will work across complex programs, partnering with business stakeholders, engineering teams, and project delivery functions to translate requirements into robust infrastructure and platform architectures. The role plays a key part in driving modernisation initiatives, uplifting legacy environments, and enabling future-ready digital capabilities.
Key Responsibilities Architecture & Solution Design
- Lead the end-to-end architecture of infrastructure solutions across on-prem, hybrid, and cloud environments
- Design and govern Azure landing zones, networking, identity, and security architectures
- Define migration strategies including rehost (lift & shift), replatform, and refactor approaches
- Ensure alignment with enterprise architecture principles and cloud best practices
Cloud Transformation & Migration
- Lead on-premises to Azure migration initiatives, including:
- Data centre migrations
- Application and workload modernisation
- Infrastructure decommissioning and optimisation
- Conduct current-state assessments and define future-state architectures
- Develop migration roadmaps, sequencing, and transition strategies
- Identify and mitigate risks across complex migration programs
Stakeholder Engagement
- Translate business and technical requirements into scalable infrastructure solutions
- Communicate architectural concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Partner with security, networking, data, and application teams to deliver integrated solutions
Governance & Delivery
- Provide architectural oversight across projects to ensure quality, consistency, and compliance
- Contribute to design reviews, technical assurance, and architecture governance forums
- Support business case development and technology investment decisions
Skills & Experience Core Experience
- 8–12+ years in IT infrastructure, cloud, or platform engineering
- Proven experience as a Solution or Infrastructure Architect in complex environments
- Strong track record delivering on-prem to Azure migration programs
- Experience designing hybrid cloud architectures
Azure & Cloud Expertise
- Deep knowledge of:
- Azure IaaS, PaaS, and networking
- Azure Landing Zones and CAF (Cloud Adoption Framework)
- Identity (Azure AD / Entra ID), governance, and security controls
- Experience with migration tooling such as:
- Azure Migrate
- Azure Site Recovery
- Third-party migration tools (desirable)
Infrastructure & Technical Capability
- Strong background in:
- Data centre infrastructure (compute, storage, virtualisation)
- Networking (VPN, ExpressRoute, segmentation)
- Backup, DR, and high availability design
- Experience with infrastructure-as-code (e.g., Terraform, Bicep, ARM templates) is desirable
Architecture & Delivery Skills
- Ability to design end-to-end solutions across multiple domains
- Experience balancing technical constraints, cost, risk, and business value
- Strong documentation, modelling, and communication skills
