Our client are a leading financial services organisation who are seeking a Solution Architect to join their cloud platform team.
Historically, cloud delivery has been more traditional - a mix of project-based infrastructure and “clickops” provisioning. That’s now evolving into a platform engineering model, where the focus is on building reusable cloud platforms, standardised patterns, and self-service capability for engineering teams. The aim is to move away from one-off delivery and towards consistent, scalable ways of working across the business - with strong emphasis on automation, governance, and cloud product thinking.
This Solution Architect role sits right in the centre of that transformation.
You’ll help define how cloud is built and consumed across AWS and Azure environments - shaping architecture patterns, enabling platform adoption, and ensuring teams can deliver in a secure, scalable, and consistent way
This role can be based in Brisbane or Sydney and had hybrid working. 3 days in the office & 2 days working from home. You will need an engineering background, ideally in Cloud, Platform or DevOps.
The Solution Architect will:
- Designing end-to-end infrastructure solutions across AWS and GCP in hybrid enterprise environments
- Defining and evolving reusable architecture patterns to support platform engineering at scale
- Supporting the shift away from manual “clickops” towards IaC-driven, automated delivery
- Architecting across networking, identity, security, and integration to ensure robust and compliant platforms
- Working closely with engineering and platform teams to ensure architecture is actually delivered in practice
- Mentor and uplift capability: contribute to the Centre of Excellence, helping teams adopt best practices and improve technical skills
- Strong experience as a Solution Architect in large enterprise environments
- Deep AWS & Azure architecture experience (networking, security, identity, HA, platform design)
- Experience defining architecture patterns or reusable standards
- Strong understanding of secure, scalable infrastructure in complex environments
- Experience working in governed environments or architecture review processes
