In collaboration with the Australian Federal Government, Emanate Technology is looking for a skilled and motivated Software Engineer
to join a multidisciplinary delivery team. You’ll be working in an agile environment on large-scale applications, integrating cloud and on-prem solutions using Microsoft technologies. This is your chance to contribute to meaningful, nation-wide outcomes through secure, high-quality software development.
What you’ll be doing
- Scoping and estimating tasks as part of agile planning ceremonies
- Writing scalable, testable, and maintainable code aligned with defined acceptance criteria
- Collaborating across teams to deliver integrated software solutions
- Participating in daily stand-ups, retrospectives, and performance check-ins
- Creating documentation that supports the full software development lifecycle
- Supporting the delivery of solutions that span both cloud-based and on-premise environments
- Responding to evolving business needs through flexible task execution
What you need to bring
- Experience delivering complex enterprise applications using .NET Core / .NET 5/6
- Knowledge applying Microsoft Azure PaaS services such as App Services, Functions, APIM, and Service Bus
- Proficiency using Visual Studio 2019/2022, Visual Studio Code, and Azure DevOps in delivery pipelines
- Capability building RESTful services with Microsoft Web API frameworks
- Skills applying modern CI/CD practices within development workflows
- Understanding integrating high-volume transactional or complex distributed systems
- Ability communicating effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Confidence contributing to agile delivery teams using modern development frameworks and tools
Bonus points for…
- Experience delivering projects in a federal government setting
- Familiarity using Vue3, CA GEN, R, or other object-oriented programming languages
- Skills coding with Bash or PowerShell in automation or DevOps environments
- Capability managing infrastructure as code or provisioning Azure data services
- Exposure applying automated unit and UI testing practices in CI pipelines

- Initial 10 month contract + 2 x 12 month extensions
- This role may require federal government security clearance and as such we are only able to accept applications from candidates with Australian Citizenship.
- You must also have the ability to obtain and maintain national police check.
