This is an exciting opportunity for a tester with a strong data background to work across modern data platforms, data lakes and data pipelines, helping ensure data is accurate, reliable and fit for purpose. You'll work closely with developers, data engineers, analysts and business stakeholders in a collaborative Agile environment, playing a key role in delivering quality outcomes across large-scale data initiatives.
About the Role
- Test complex data platforms, data lakes, data products and data pipelines
- Validate data quality, business rules and transformation logic
- Perform reconciliation testing and end-to-end data validation
- Investigate data issues and conduct root cause analysis
- Develop and execute test plans, test cases and test scripts
- Write and execute complex SQL queries to validate data accuracy and integrity
- Develop and maintain automated testing capabilities using Python and SQL
- Support regression testing, release testing and UAT activities
- Work closely with delivery teams to identify and resolve defects
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of testing processes and quality practices
- 5+ years' experience in Software Testing, QA or Test Analysis
- Strong experience testing data lakes, data warehouses, analytics platforms or other large-scale data environments
- Advanced SQL skills with experience validating complex datasets and data transformations
- Hands-on experience with data lake testing, ETL/ELT testing, data reconciliation and data quality validation
- Experience developing automated testing solutions using Python
- Strong understanding of testing methodologies, test planning and defect management
- Experience using Azure DevOps, Jira, GitHub or similar tools
- Experience supporting or leading UAT activities
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Data migration testing experience
- Exposure to Databricks
- Understanding of Data Mesh and Data Product concepts
- Experience working in cloud-based data environments
- Previous experience delivering within government or large enterprise environments
- Long-term federal government contract with extension potential
