We're seeking up to two experienced ICT professionals to join a high-performing infrastructure team supporting global operations. This contract opportunity is ideal for engineers with deep expertise in backup, storage, and virtualised environments, and who thrive in dynamic, enterprise-scale settings.
About the Role
As a Backup & Storage Server Engineer, you'll play a key role in modernising and maintaining core infrastructure systems. You'll contribute to the refresh of legacy platforms, support automated deployments, and work across technologies such as Windows Server, VMware, Nutanix, Commvault, and Dell storage solutions.
This is a hands-on technical role requiring strong problem-solving skills, coordination capabilities, and the ability to deliver end-to-end solutions across a distributed network.
Key Responsibilities
• Deliver technical outcomes as a senior infrastructure specialist
• Support and enhance backup and data protection platforms (Commvault, Dell Data Protection, Apex Druva)
• Assist in the rollout of modern backup and cloud-based storage solutions
• Implement and maintain Microsoft Server environments (2019/2022)
• Manage virtualised infrastructure across global sites (VMware, Nutanix)
• Lead system upgrades, relocations, and change activities
• Produce clear and concise technical documentation
• Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to resolve complex issues
• Apply strong organisational skills and attention to detail in all tasks
Required Skills & Experience
• Proven experience managing enterprise backup and storage environments
• Hands-on expertise with cloud-based backup technologies
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Server platforms (up to Server 2022)
• Familiarity with virtualisation technologies including VMware and Nutanix
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex infrastructure issues
• Excellent communication skills, including translating technical concepts for non-technical audiences
• Experience working collaboratively in technical teams
Mandatory Requirements
• Active NV2 security clearance
• Demonstrated success in team-based environments
• Strong documentation and stakeholder engagement skills
