We’re looking for an experienced Senior Procurement and Contracts Officer to lead complex ICT procurement activities for a major government initiative. This is a senior role where you’ll manage end-to-end procurement processes, provide expert advice, and ensure governance and probity across high-value projects. You’ll work in a collaborative environment that values innovation, diversity, and making a real impact.
What you will be doing
- Lead procurement activities for ICT projects, including sourcing strategies, tender management, evaluation panels, and contract establishment.
- Develop high-quality documentation for planning, sourcing, evaluation, and contract management in line with government frameworks.
- Build strong relationships with stakeholders to understand operational requirements and deliver tailored procurement solutions.
- Prepare contract handover packages and management plans to support effective ongoing contract administration.
- Contribute to capability building by mentoring team members and stakeholders on procurement best practices.
- Coordinate governance arrangements and ensure decisions are documented accurately.
- Proven experience managing complex ICT procurement activities, including Invitations to Offer (ITOs) and establishing Standing Offer Arrangements.
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to analyse and solve procurement-related challenges.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build trust and deliver on commitments.
- High-level organisational skills, proactive approach, and ability to work autonomously.
- Commercial acumen and knowledge of procurement policy, probity, and risk management for high-value activities.
- Level 3 or 4 Procurement Certification (highly desirable).
- Experience in government procurement frameworks and ICT sourcing.
- Ability to mentor and uplift procurement capability within teams.
- Experience in Sourcing and Procurement of Hardware services for Government
