About the role & company:
Our client is a fast-growing organisation with a national footprint. They play a vital role in supporting essential industries across Australia. With a strong focus on operational reliability and innovation, they combine physical infrastructure with smart technology to deliver real-time solutions to their customers. They are heavily investing in their tech and digital capability, and are currently on the lookout for a Senior Workplace Engineer to help take their business to the next level.
In this role, you will be responsible for their end-user compute, management, systems maintenance, and more. You’ll have an opportunity to help re-define their environment - from architecture and design through to implementation. On a technical level, you’ll work across SOE (package, test, plan, deploy), maintain standards and security across mobility management systems, and help implement Modern Workplace security policies, ensuring compliance with ISO 27001 standards.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain and support all endpoints and mobility systems - including software deployment, patching, configuration, and device security - ensuring alignment with business standards and compliance.
- Develop and uphold security policies, respond to vulnerabilities, and support audits to meet standards such as Essential 8 (Level 2) and ISO 27001.
- Design and implement EUC architecture that supports business goals, ensuring high availability and performance through proactive monitoring and maintenance.
- Manage vendor relationships, select appropriate providers, and ensure accurate reporting on software licensing and vendor performance.
- Shape and execute a long-term EUC strategy, keeping up with evolving technologies and best practices to guide continuous improvement.
- At least 7 years of experience in Microsoft Modern Workplace environments, with advanced technical skills across Windows OS, macOS, mobile platforms, virtual machines, and endpoint management tools like Intune and JAMF.
- Deep understanding of regulatory compliance and security frameworks such as ISO 27001, Essential 8, NIST, and risk management methodologies, with experience supporting audit and governance activities.
- Skilled in scripting (PowerShell, batch, HTML) and software packaging (MSI, AdminStudio, InstallShield), as well as configuration and deployment of updates via Windows System Update Services and Entra.
- Strong grasp of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, Ethernet) and ITSM practices
