Emanate Technology is supporting a key Federal Government client in the delivery of a long running program focused on the full migration of complex legacy systems. We are seeking an experienced Lead Developer to play a hands on technical leadership role within this initiative.

About the Role
You will work within a small, multidisciplinary delivery team comprising a Lead Architect/Developer, Developers, Testers, and Designers. Partnering closely with product teams, you will help:
  • Understand existing systems, integrations, and dependencies
  • Scope and drive system changes for upstream and downstream relying parties
  • Scope and deliver Single Sign On initiatives and attribute model changes
  • Update and maintain architectural documentation for governance, cyber security, and oversight forums
  • Drive delivery through DevOps pipelines, ensuring scope, quality, and timelines are met
You will take direction from the Product Owner and Lead Architect, while providing strong technical leadership to internal teams.
Key Responsibilities
  • Hands on engineering
  • Act as the primary contributor for complex development tasks across:
  • C#, ASPX, SQL, JavaScript
  • Provide maintenance support and extract business logic from legacy platforms including:
  • Delphi, Visual Basic, and classic ASP
  • System Architecture
Define and maintain the technical blueprint governing interactions between:
  • Custom applications
  • Databases
  • The Dynamics 365 ecosystem
  • Ensure solutions align with performance, scalability, and long‑term sustainability requirements
Technical Project Management
  • Bridge strategic intent (“the what”) with delivery execution (“the how”)
  • Manage technical risks, dependencies, and delivery schedules
  • Ensure architectural outcomes align with program milestones and delivery commitments
Mentorship & Best Practices
  • Establish and enforce standards across:
  • Code quality
  • Documentation (XML / HTML)
  • Database schema design
  • Mentor team members through complex migrations, integrations, and legacy modernisation work
What You’ll Bring
Demonstrated years of experience in documented IT experience, demonstrating evolution from legacy client server environments to modern cloud based ERP and CRM platforms
Strong hands on capability across:
  • Modern application tiers
  • Legacy technologies
  • Web and data platforms
Demonstrated experience delivering complex enterprise scale programs, including:
  • Architectural vision documentation
  • Application of whole‑of‑government standards
  • Cyber security best practices
  • Legacy migration planning
Proven experience in technical project leadership, incorporating:
  • Agile delivery methodologies
  • Risk management
  • Planning, documentation, and benefits realisation
