We’re looking for a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to join a collaborative and high-performing team, working across hybrid cloud environments with a focus on Azure services.
This is an exciting opportunity to work in a role where your expertise will directly contribute to major cloud initiatives, while working alongside a supportive team of experienced professionals.
🔧 About the role:
You’ll be responsible for designing, implementing, maintaining, and improving cloud solutions that leverage Azure IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS services. This role will see you collaborating closely with DevOps teams, developers, and business stakeholders to ensure cloud environments are efficient, secure, and aligned to both organisational and Government security standards.
You’ll be part of a team driving critical business outcomes, with a strong focus on innovation, automation, and continual service improvement.
🛠Key responsibilities include:
• Design and implement Azure cloud solutions to meet business and technical requirements
• Deploy, maintain, and optimise Azure resources for performance and cost-effectiveness
• Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and drive proactive improvements
• Implement robust security controls and ensure compliance with organisational and Government policies
• Automate deployments and infrastructure processes using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and DevOps practices
• Collaborate with DevOps teams, developers, and business units to support cloud integration
• Contribute to the delivery of a critical line of business service, coordinating with architecture, operations, and external partners
🎯 Desirable skills and experience:
• Strong experience designing and managing Azure hybrid cloud infrastructure (compute, storage, networking, automation)
• Expertise with infrastructure as code (e.g., Azure-specific IaC tools, PowerShell, Desired State Configuration)
• Experience working with modern DevOps platforms, source control systems, and CI/CD pipelines
• Deep understanding of cloud security controls and best practices
• Strong collaboration skills and the ability to work across multi-disciplinary teams
• Previous experience in Government or highly regulated environments is highly regarded
📅 Contract Info:
• Initial Term: 12 months
• Extension Options: Up to a maximum of 36 months total (including initial term)
• Location: Hybrid – Canberra, ACT (3 days in-office, 2 days remote; Wednesdays and Thursdays mandatory in-office)
• Clearance: Must be able to obtain Baseline Security Clearance (existing clearance highly desirable)
