Our client is a fast-growing organisation based in Brisbane supporting some of Australia’s most critical industries, with a strong focus on innovation and real-time systems. They’re now looking for a Senior DevSecOps Engineer to join their expanding team.
There’s a lot to get stuck into – and for the right person, it’s the kind of challenge that’s genuinely exciting. A number of their applications were deployed without much structure or oversight. They’re now looking for someone analytical and forward-thinking to come in, look under the hood of these apps, and then set up proper dev/test environments, implement CI/CD pipelines, introducing monitoring, and identifying vulnerabilities before someone else does. This is a chance to lay the groundwork for scalable, secure delivery from the ground up.
They currently use a variety of technology, currently a combination of mostly Azure, mixed with some AWS (This environment is becoming bigger). Plus Octopus Deploy & Github Actions for their pipelines. Down the line, they will be looking at utilising Kubernetes.
This role will suit someone that who wants to move fast, solve problems and make an impact without the red tape.
Your Responsibilities:
- Build and Own CI/CD Pipelines – Design and maintain scalable, secure pipelines that support automated build, test, and deploy processes, including advanced strategies like Blue-Green and Canary deployments.
- Environment Automation – Use Infrastructure as Code (IaC) to provision and manage cloud environments (Azure/AWS), ensuring high availability & performance
- Implement Robust Tooling – Set up monitoring, alerting, and log aggregation across environments
- Embed Security from the Start – Integrate AppSec and cloud security into every stage of the development lifecycle
- Drive Quality and Visibility – Automate code quality, performance, and security checks in the pipeline
About You:
- CI/CD Expertise – Proven experience designing, building, and managing secure, scalable pipelines and associated tooling to streamline deployment and testing.
- Cloud Engineering – Strong background in managing cloud environments, especially in Azure. Bonus points for AWS
- Infrastructure & Containers – Hands-on experience with configuration management tools like Ansible and container platforms such as Kubernetes and Docker.
- Strong Dev & Scripting Skills – Scripting ability in PowerShell and Bash.
- Architecture-Minded – Ability to apply cloud best practices to build performant, reliable, and maintainable systems at scale.
