You will be responsible for designing, executing, and governing comprehensive testing strategies for enterprise data platform solutions, ensuring delivery quality, risk mitigation, and operational readiness across multiple delivery teams.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver risk-based, multi-phase test strategies, including entry/exit criteria, quality gates, and prioritisation based on business risk and data criticality.
- Lead end-to-end test execution and governance, including defect triage, coverage tracking, UAT coordination, and formal sign-offs.
- Validate end-to-end data platform workflows, covering ingestion, transformation, and serving layers.
- Ensure data quality and lineage, including completeness, accuracy, timeliness, uniqueness, conformity, and schema drift detection.
- Communicate test status, risks, trade-offs, and mitigation strategies clearly to both executive and technical stakeholders.
- Apply strong systems thinking to rapidly understand solution landscapes and proactively identify risks such as data freshness or schema changes.
- Plan and assess performance and load testing, interpreting platform metrics and identifying scalability and cost bottlenecks.
- Ensure operational readiness through observability, monitoring, smoke and canary testing, rollback validation, and runbook preparation.
- Build reusable test frameworks and embed automated testing into CI/CD pipelines, treating tests as code.
- Strong experience in strategic test leadership, including risk-based planning and stakeholder engagement.
- Proven delivery of disciplined test cycles covering governance, defect management, and UAT coordination.
- Hands-on experience testing enterprise data platforms, including ingestion pipelines, transformations, and serving layers.
- Deep understanding of data quality, control totals, SLAs, and data contracts.
- Experience embedding test automation into CI/CD pipelines using SQL, Python, and platform-native tooling.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage execs, engineers, and delivery teams.
- Experience designing runtime health checks, SLA/SLO monitoring, and automated alerting.
