A private business is expanding its cloud capability and is seeking an experienced Cloud Engineer to join a high‑performing technical team. This role suits someone who thrives in modern cloud environments, enjoys solving complex problems, and can balance operational support with project delivery.
You’ll be part of a collaborative group of specialists responsible for maintaining and enhancing a secure, cloud‑first ecosystem built on Microsoft technologies.
What You’ll Be Doing In this role, you’ll take ownership of a broad range of cloud engineering responsibilities, including:
Cloud & Endpoint Operations
- Deliver Level 2/3 support across Azure, Microsoft 365, Intune and identity platforms.
- Manage cloud‑based Windows endpoints using Intune, including packaging applications, configuring policies, and troubleshooting advanced endpoint issues.
- Optimise cloud services and contribute to the secure rollout of Microsoft technologies across the organisation.
- Administer and enhance identity services using Active Directory and Entra ID.
- Build and refine Conditional Access policies, identity governance workflows, and access lifecycle processes.
- Work with enterprise security tools such as Microsoft Defender, Tenable, Splunk, Airlock and other cloud‑integrated monitoring platforms.
- Maintain detailed documentation across cloud services, identity platforms, endpoint configurations, and integration workflows.
- Support governance initiatives including RBAC models, compliance frameworks, policy development, and lifecycle management.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to resolve complex cloud issues and support ongoing improvement initiatives.
- Hands‑on experience with Azure, Microsoft 365, Intune and cloud‑managed Windows environments.
- Strong PowerShell scripting capability for automation, remediation and administration tasks.
- Solid understanding of cloud networking, secure connectivity, endpoint security controls and identity‑based access patterns.
- Experience with Azure Enterprise Applications, App Registrations, certificate/secret management and Azure Virtual Desktop.
- Familiarity with ServiceNow for incident, problem and change processes.
- Knowledge of DevOps‑aligned practices including release and change workflows.
- Demonstrated capability in RBAC, identity governance and cloud compliance activities.
- A proactive, self‑driven approach with the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to design and communicate effective technical solutions.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to work confidently across multidisciplinary teams.
- Experience mentoring others and contributing to a positive, knowledge‑sharing culture.
- Hours: 40 per week
- Start: ASAP
- End Date: 30 June 2026
- Extensions: Possible beyond the initial term
