Work with a Global Consulting Leader – Cloud Engineer | Canberra

Emanate Technology are partnering with a major global consultancy to recruit an experienced Senior Cloud Engineer for a Canberra-based opportunity supporting high-impact federal government programs. This role offers the chance to work at the forefront of digital transformation, contributing to cloud modernisation initiatives that are critical to Australia’s national infrastructure and services.

About the Role

As a key technical lead, you’ll drive the successful migration of on-premises systems to Azure, designing and delivering secure, scalable cloud-native solutions. This role involves hands-on engineering, close collaboration across multidisciplinary teams, and contributing to the development of best practices and governance frameworks.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead full lifecycle Azure migration projects – from discovery and planning through to execution and optimisation.
  • Design robust cloud infrastructure solutions tailored for scalability, performance, and security.
  • Use Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools to automate provisioning and environment configuration.
  • Collaborate across application, security, and operations teams to ensure cohesive solution delivery.
  • Participate in architecture reviews and shape cloud strategy through expert guidance and governance input.
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to capability uplift across the team.
  • Engage stakeholders and project managers to align technical delivery with broader business objectives.
  • Produce clear documentation and handover material to support ongoing operations.
We’re looking for someone with expertise in:
  • Microsoft Azure across IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS environments.
  • Tools such as Azure Migrate, Azure Arc, Site Recovery, and other third-party migration technologies.
  • Infrastructure-as-Code – Bicep, ARM templates, Terraform, Ansible.
  • Scripting & Automation – PowerShell, Bash, or Python.
  • DevOps & CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or Jenkins.
  • Networking – VNETs, VPN Gateway, NSGs, ExpressRoute, Load Balancers.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert or Azure Administrator Associate
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
This role requires Australian Citizenship and NV1 clearance.

Benefits
  • Career Growth & Global Opportunities – Capgemini offers structured career development, access to global expertise, and the opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects across industries and geographies.
  • People-First Culture – With a strong focus on inclusion, collaboration, and employee wellbeing, Capgemini fosters an environment where your contributions are valued and your voice is heard.
  • Impactful Public Sector Work – In Canberra, you’ll work closely with government agencies on nationally significant projects, helping to deliver secure, innovative solutions that shape Australia’s future.
