Scrum Master – Cloud Transformation Project

Initial 4-Month Contract with Potential for Multi-Year Extension
We’re partnering with a leading consultancy delivering a major applications modernisation program for a Defence-aligned client. As part of this large-scale cloud transformation initiative, we are seeking an experienced Scrum Master to drive Agile delivery across a high-performing, multi-disciplinary team.
You’ll be supporting the migration and refactoring of a range of legacy and modern applications (.NET, .NET Core, Classic ASP, Java, PHP, WordPress) into Microsoft Azure, with a strong focus on maintaining velocity, removing blockers, and aligning delivery with strategic outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Facilitate Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, retrospectives, and reviews
- Coach and mentor teams on Agile delivery practices and frameworks
- Support collaboration between developers, testers, architects, and business analysts
- Identify and address delivery impediments to maintain focus and momentum
- Track progress using JIRA, Confluence, and Azure DevOps Boards
- Drive backlog refinement and support Product Owners in prioritisation
- Champion a culture of continuous improvement, delivery excellence, and team accountability
- Ensure alignment with cloud transformation milestones and technical dependencies
- Strong experience as a Scrum Master in enterprise IT or cloud migration projects
- In-depth understanding of Scrum, Kanban, and SAFe delivery frameworks
- Demonstrated experience working with cross-functional technical teams
- Advanced knowledge of Agile delivery tools (JIRA, Confluence, Azure DevOps)
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
- Experience in cloud-native environments, ideally Azure
- Exceptional communication skills with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Certified Scrum Master (CSM), SAFe Scrum Master, or equivalent
- Experience delivering application and infrastructure transformation into Azure
- Background in Agile delivery involving legacy technologies (.NET, Java, PHP, WordPress)
- Experience working in secure environments or with Defence stakeholders
- NV1 security clearance is essential
