Emanate Technology is partnering with a large enterprise organisation delivering a major operational and ERP transformation. We’re seeking an experienced Enterprise / Technical Architect to provide technical and architectural leadership across a complex SAP S/4HANA landscape supporting critical operational and supply chain capabilities.
This role will suit a senior architect who can own end-to-end solution architecture, define integration and security patterns, and translate business requirements into robust, scalable technical designs.
About the role You will join a specialist delivery team responsible for shaping and delivering the enterprise and technical architecture underpinning a modern SAP S/4HANA platform and its integrated ecosystem.
The role carries accountability for the integrity of solution architecture across applications, integration, infrastructure, security and performance. You will produce and govern Solution Architecture Designs (SAD) and Solution Implementation Designs (SID), ensuring solutions align to enterprise standards, clean-core principles and long-term scalability.
What you will be doing
- Defining and owning end-to-end enterprise and technical architecture for SAP S/4HANA–based solutions
- Producing and maintaining Solution Architecture Designs (SAD) and Solution Implementation Designs (SID)
- Designing scalable integration patterns using RFC, IDoc, OData, REST and SOAP, including cloud integration via SAP BTP / CPI
- Defining technical connectivity requirements including network zones, routing, ports, protocols and firewall rules
- Establishing authentication and identity architecture, including SSO, SAML/OAuth, certificates and secure external connectivity
- Providing technical oversight and guidance for interface and WRICEF components in line with SAP clean-core principles
- Defining performance, scalability, availability, monitoring and logging requirements for SAP and integrated systems
- Working closely with infrastructure, security and network teams to validate and implement architecture standards
- Communicating complex technical designs to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Supporting documentation, knowledge transfer and handover to embed capability
- 10+ years’ experience across enterprise and technical architecture, including SAP S/4HANA environments
- Strong hands-on experience designing architectures across applications, integration, infrastructure, data and security
- Proven experience producing SADs and SIDs aligned to enterprise governance and standards
- Deep knowledge of SAP integration technologies including SAP BTP, CPI and interface security patterns
- Experience defining network and connectivity patterns (DMZs, routing, ports, protocols, firewall rules)
- Strong understanding of performance, scalability, capacity and availability planning for SAP workloads
- Excellent stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to bridge technical and business audiences
- Ability to operate confidently in complex, enterprise-scale delivery environments
- Architecture certifications such as TOGAF or equivalent
- Exposure to RISE / HEC or cloud-hosted SAP models
- Experience in operational, logistics or supply chain–heavy SAP landscapes
- Background working in highly regulated or large public sector–style environments
