About the role
An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced S/4HANA Sales & Distribution (SD) Functional Expert to join a major transformation initiative within the health sector. This program focuses on delivering a contemporary, fit-for-purpose operating environment—spanning a new centralised facility, modernised processes, and an enhanced enterprise system supporting complex supply chain operations.
You’ll join a specialist project team delivering critical components of a future-state solution, ensuring sales and distribution processes are robust, scalable, and aligned to operational needs across a high-volume clinical supply environment.
What you will be doing
In this role, you will:
- Lead the design and configuration of S/4HANA Sales & Distribution processes to support end-to-end Order-to-Cash activities.
- Develop and implement functional designs, WRICEF objects, master data structures and integration touchpoints.
- Work closely with cross-functional experts to ensure seamless alignment with modules such as MM, FI, EWM, BTP and external systems.
- Collaborate with solution architects to ensure compliance with architectural, data governance and audit standards.
- Prepare and maintain detailed design documentation, process flows, functional specs, test scripts and data standards.
- Support all phases of testing—from unit through to UAT and performance testing.
- Contribute to cutover planning and execution to ensure smooth deployment into production.
- Provide expert support during hypercare, post-go-live stabilisation and knowledge transfer to internal teams.
- Engage proactively with stakeholders, offering clear communication on technical decisions, impacts and progress.
What you will bring
To succeed in this role, you will bring:
- 5+ years of hands-on S/4HANA SD experience across greenfield implementations and/or complex production environments.
- Demonstrated ability to design original, fit-for-purpose S/4HANA SD solutions—not just template rollouts.
- Strong understanding of master data, pricing, Business Partner, and output/communication frameworks.
- Deep experience with cross-module integration (MM, FI, EWM, BTP).
- Proven capability delivering across the full SAP project lifecycle—design, build, testing, cutover, hypercare and stabilisation.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts for diverse audiences.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and fit-gap assessment abilities.
- Resilience, initiative and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, complex program environment.
Bonus points for
- SAP S/4HANA Sales & Distribution certification.
- Additional SAP module certifications (e.g., EWM).
- Experience in the health or pharmaceutical supply chain sectors.
- Exposure to large-scale transformation or future-state operating model programs.
