Emanate Technology is partnering with a large, complex organisation undergoing a significant enterprise transformation program. We are seeking a highly experienced SAP S/4HANA Finance and Controlling (FICO) Functional Expert to join a specialist delivery team and play a pivotal role in shaping and delivering a modern, fit-for-purpose SAP solution.
This is a hands-on senior functional role suited to someone who enjoys greenfield and bespoke design work, complex integrations, and working closely with both technical and business stakeholders in a fast-moving project environment.
About the role
You will work as part of a specialist SAP delivery team responsible for designing, implementing and supporting S/4HANA FICO capabilities within a broader ERP and operational supply chain landscape. The focus is on building scalable, pragmatic solutions that support end-to-end operational processes, month-end financial processing, and integration across multiple SAP modules and external systems.
This role requires strong functional design expertise, deep S/4HANA knowledge, and the ability to translate complex business requirements into robust SAP solutions that stand up in live production environments.
What you will be doing
- Designing and implementing end-to-end S/4HANA FICO configurations and WRICEF objects aligned to SAP best practices
- Delivering original, fit-for-purpose FICO designs in greenfield and/or live S/4HANA environments
- Designing master data structures including business partner, general ledger, cost centres, profit centres and funds
- Ensuring seamless integration with related modules such as MM, SD, EWM, BTP, VIM and external systems
- Working closely with solution architects to ensure alignment with overall solution architecture, governance and compliance requirements
- Translating complex business and operational requirements into scalable SAP functional designs
- Producing high-quality documentation including functional designs, configuration specs, process flows and test scripts
- Supporting unit testing, system integration testing, UAT and defect resolution
- Providing input into cutover planning and participating in deployment activities
- Supporting hypercare and post-go-live stabilisation, including troubleshooting FICO issues
- Contributing to knowledge transfer to uplift internal capability and support change adoption
- Minimum 5 years’ experience delivering S/4HANA FICO solutions in greenfield implementations and/or live production environments
- Strong end-to-end FICO expertise, including hands-on configuration and solution design (not template-based rollouts)
- Proven experience integrating FICO with modules such as MM, SD, EWM, BTP and external platforms
- Ability to translate complex business requirements into pragmatic, scalable SAP designs
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to work effectively across technical and non-technical teams
- Experience delivering across the full SAP lifecycle – design, build, test, cutover, hypercare and stabilisation
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving and documentation skills
- Ability to work autonomously in a project-based, outcomes-driven environment
- SAP S/4HANA FICO certification
- Experience with VIM, invoice automation or document management integrations
- Exposure to complex operational or supply chain–focused SAP environments
- Prior experience within highly regulated or enterprise-scale organisations
