Emanate Technology is partnered with a global FinOps organisation with a strong presence in Australia, looking to grow their engineering capability with a Principal Software Engineer.

You will join a small, high performing product team with end to end ownership of core platform capabilities. This is a hands on role where you will contribute directly to development while providing technical leadership, architectural direction, and design guidance that will be adopted across multiple product teams.

The role requires deep full stack experience, with strong expertise in backend development using C#/.NET and frontend engineering with React.
Key Responsibilities
  • Provide hands on technical leadership across frontend and backend development.
  • Define and guide system architecture and low level design decisions.
  • Develop scalable, maintainable, and performant applications using C#/.NET and React.
  • Establish engineering standards and mentor teams on best practices.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to deliver high quality user experiences.
Required Skills and Experience
  • 8+ years of professional software engineering experience.
  • Strong expertise in C#, ASP.NET Core, and modern backend development.
  • Expert‑level experience with React, Redux, and responsive UI development.
  • Solid knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, and frontend performance considerations.
  • Proven experience building and deploying cloud‑based, full‑stack applications.
  • Strong API design experience, including REST and authentication (e.g. OAuth 2.0).
  • Demonstrated ability to provide architectural guidance and mentor engineers.
  • Clear communication skills across technical and non technical stakeholders.
Nice to Have
  • Experience in financial or trading platforms.
  • Exposure to C++ or other backend languages.
  • Cloud migration experience (on‑prem to cloud).
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, Git, and real‑time communication technologies (e.g. WebSockets).
