I’m working with a large organisation based in Brisbane who are undergoing a significant uplift of their core hosting platforms, and they’re looking for a Platform Manager to take ownership and drive the next stage of their transformation.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys shaping platform strategy, aligning teams, and modernising complex environments.
The role is hybrid - 3 days in the Office & 2 WFH. You can be based in either Brisbane or Sydney and the position is paying up to $200,000 including super.
What you’ll be doing
End-to-end platform ownership
You’ll lead the design, implementation, and ongoing management of key hosting platforms across Cloud Platforms (AWS & Azure), Wintel, Midrange, and Containers. Your focus is ensuring the environment is robust, secure, scalable, and able to support the organisation’s long-term needs.
Setting the direction
You’ll help define and execute the platform roadmap, ensuring it aligns with broader business objectives. This includes influencing architectural decisions, investment priorities, and uplift initiatives.
Driving IaC and automation
The organisation is moving firmly toward Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) and automated provisioning. You’ll champion that shift and ensure the foundations are consistent, versioned, and repeatable.
Modern platform practices
You’ll lead best practice across PaaS and SaaS adoption, support the creation of reusable patterns, and help the business move toward a more scalable, platform-centric model.
Leadership and capability uplift
You’ll manage and mentor a team of 14 engineers across Cloud, Infrastructure, and DevOps. The expectation is to build a strong culture, guide their development, and uplift engineering capability across the board.
Who they’re looking for
Someone who:
- Has led platform engineering, infrastructure delivery, or cloud operations teams
- Brings strong knowledge across cloud, infrastructure, and IaC (Terraform preferred)
- Can confidently influence architecture, governance, and delivery groups
- Understands how to modernise legacy environments and introduce best practice
