Emanate Technology is partnering with a small Government agency to recruit a Lead Data Architect. In this role, you will contribute to several critical projects aimed at consolidating all organisational data into a single source across multiple environments and systems that need to be centralised.
Your work will involve planning, designing and delivering a reusable data cleansing and migration solution to enable business transformation, migrating from legacy ERP systems to a new ERP platform. This solution will form the foundation for an enterprise data platform uplift.
The second stage will focus on consolidating and standardising data extraction, transformation and loading processes, while establishing enterprise-grade BI, reporting and analytics capabilities by leveraging existing technologies.
The third stage aims to extend the core enterprise data platform to accommodate additional data sources, serve new consumers, and support subsequent data migrations, enhanced BI and analytics, and system integration for regular bulk data transfers.
This stage may also include extending the platform to handle unstructured or semi-structured data.
The ideal candidates will:
Be a thought leader across the enterprise data management space, with a particular focus on the enterprise data platform. You will lead the design and implementation of the ERP data cleansing and migration solution, work with the Enterprise Data Governance Working Group to uplift governance and management capability and drive the design and delivery of both consolidated and extended enterprise data platforms.
You will also contribute to the development of data management strategies, policies and guidelines, produce key documentation such as architectural outlines and analysis reports, assess technologies for adoption or uplift, and mentor data professionals to build organisational capability.
Key Skills and Experience:
The successful candidate must have extensive experience in complex, large-scale data cleansing and migration projects, ideally including ERP transformations. You will have a proven ability to design end-to-end, scalable and secure data architectures that support BI, analytics and high-volume integrations, as well as expertise in ETL and ELT pipelines, data modelling and persistence layers optimised for high-concurrency workloads.
Strong knowledge of cloud-based data solutions, particularly on major public cloud platforms, and experience integrating BI and analytics tools are essential. You will also demonstrate excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear narratives for both technical and non-technical audiences.
Additional experience in data security configuration, governance frameworks, modern data lake or lakehouse platforms, and familiarity with Power BI or Tableau will be highly regarded.
