About the role
We’re partnering with a large government organisation seeking an experienced JavaScript / Python Developer to support the design and development of new technical concepts for a future online customer platform.
This contract role is ideal for a developer who enjoys greenfield prototyping, problem-solving, and exploring modern approaches to identity, security and customer experience. You’ll be working closely with solution architects to build proof-of-concept applications that help shape the next iteration of a modern digital service.
What you will be doing
As the JavaScript / Python Developer, you will:
- Develop both front-end and back-end applications aligned to defined solution architecture and use cases.
- Build and test proof-of-concept features to minimum viable product standard.
- Prototype modern digital identity and customer authentication components.
- Document your work clearly and commit code to the organisation’s Git-based repositories.
- Work independently to progress assigned tasks while collaborating with project stakeholders as required.
We’re looking for someone with:
- 3–5 years’ experience developing with JavaScript and Python.
- Hands-on experience with Node.js and FastAPI.
- Strong capability across both front-end and back-end development.
- Experience deploying applications into Azure environments.
- Exposure (even at a basic level) to SAP Business Technology Platform.
- Solid understanding of code documentation and version control using Git / GitHub.
- The ability to work independently and deliver high-quality outcomes with minimal oversight.
- Experience working within government or large, complex environments.
- Familiarity with digital identity standards or authentication technologies.
- A background in building secure, customer-facing platforms or portals.
