Senior IT Asset Manager – Software Focus
Are you a seasoned IT Asset Management professional with a passion for software governance and optimisation? 

This role is ideal for someone who thrives on cross-functional collaboration, understands the intricacies of software licensing, and is driven to deliver cost-effective, compliant asset outcomes. What You’ll Be Doing
  • Oversee the full lifecycle of software assets, ensuring visibility, control, and compliance across the enterprise.
  • Develop and maintain robust policies and procedures aligned with ITIL best practices.
  • Leverage platforms like ServiceNow (or similar) to manage a centralised software asset repository.
  • Monitor software usage, entitlements, installations, and licensing across diverse environments and vendors.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities through usage analysis and licensing optimisation.
  • Deliver risk assessments and compliance reports to support audits and vendor reconciliations.
  • Partner with procurement, finance, security, and operations teams to manage software assets end-to-end.
  • Conduct regular audits to ensure licensing accuracy and detect inefficiencies.
  • Provide data-driven insights to support vendor negotiations and contract renewals.
  • Champion continuous improvement in asset management tools, processes, and team awareness.

Essential Skills & Experience:
  • Extensive experience in IT Asset Management within mid-to-large scale ICT environments.
  • Deep understanding of licensing frameworks for major vendors (e.g. Microsoft, Adobe, Oracle, IBM, VMware).
  • Hands-on experience with ITSM platforms like ServiceNow for asset discovery and compliance tracking.
  • Strong grasp of ITIL principles, especially in Asset and Configuration Management.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret complex data and identify actionable trends.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills across technical and executive levels.
  • Proven ability to produce clear, insightful reports and dashboards for strategic decision-making.
Desirable Extras:
  • Certification or hands-on expertise in ServiceNow Software Asset Management (SAM).
  • Experience supporting contract negotiations and vendor audits.
  • Familiarity with Hardware Asset Management (HAM), CMDB, and procurement workflows.
  • Background in regulated or high-security environments with strict compliance standards.
