Emanate Technology is proud to partner directly with a large federal government department seeking an experienced Full Stack Developer.

About the Role:
As a Full Stack Developer, your responsibilities will include:

  • Designing, developing, and maintaining software applications to meet business requirements for Corporate Systems Branch programs, following SDLC and Agile practices.
  • Building and managing productive stakeholder relationships and addressing associated risks.
  • Developing and reporting on agreed work plans, including key performance indicators and outcomes.
  • Undertaking knowledge transfer, upskilling team members, and producing high-quality documentation.
  • Performing technical leadership duties for Java and/or AWS development streams.
  • Regular reporting on performance, effort, and project deliverables.
 
Essential Experience:
  • Minimum of five years’ experience as a Java Developer and/or AWS Developer.
  • Proven experience in enterprise Java development, including version control, frameworks, design patterns, and unit testing.
  • Strong expertise in JPA, JAX-RS, EJB, CDI, and Maven.
  • Demonstrated ability to create and integrate RESTful APIs.
  • Skilled in developing, deploying, scaling, and monitoring distributed cloud-native AWS applications.
  • Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC), preferably Terraform.
  • Proficient with CI/CD practices and tools such as Azure DevOps Pipelines and Jenkins.
  • Strong communicator with the ability to collaborate within a multi-disciplinary Agile team.
  • Passion for innovation, staying current with emerging technologies and best practices.
 
Desirable Experience:
  • AWS and/or Java professional certifications.
  • Experience with Python or R programming languages.
  • Familiarity with JavaScript Single Page Applications (SPA) frameworks.
  • Knowledge of IBM WebSphere Portal or WebSphere Application Server.
  • Experience with local development, unit testing, and mocking AWS applications.
  • Flexibility to provide occasional out-of-hours support (to be negotiated if required).
 
Security and Location Requirements:
  • Must be an Australian Citizen.
  • Baseline AGSVA security clearance required
  • Must be Canberra
