A high-profile Federal Government department is seeking an experienced  DevOps Engineer to join a major transformation program focused on delivering impactful, fit-for-purpose digital solutions.

This is an opportunity to contribute to the development of national-scale systems and make a tangible difference through technology. The role offers a fast-paced, collaborative environment where you’ll work alongside technical and delivery teams to support critical services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement RESTful APIs that enable and enhance application functionality.
  • Build and maintain real-time dashboards to monitor performance and usage metrics.
  • Develop scripts and tools to streamline development workflows and reduce manual effort.
  • Integrate APIs with ALM tools such as GitLab, Jira, and Microsoft Teams.
  • Collaborate across teams to design and optimise CI/CD processes.
  • Monitor system performance, identify and resolve technical issues during iterations.
  • Support DevOps functions including continuous integration, code deployment, and automation.
  • Contribute to performance optimisation and continuous improvement across digital platforms.
About You You’re a proactive engineer with a passion for DevOps principles and improving development lifecycles. You enjoy working across the full stack and are comfortable in Agile, cross-functional teams.

Essential Criteria
  • 2–3 years of experience developing full-stack applications using Node.js with frameworks such as React, Vue, or Next.js.
  • Must be an Australian Citizen
  • Hands-on experience with DevOps methodologies and tools including Jira and VSCode.
Desirable Criteria
  • Familiarity with GitLab CI/CD pipelines, including setup, maintenance, and monitoring.
  • A strong appreciation for accessible digital design and development practices.
