The Role:
Our client is seeking a Data Engineer to design, build and support scalable data platforms and pipelines that underpin analytics, software applications and business-critical capabilities.
Working within multidisciplinary engineering teams, you will be responsible for developing robust data solutions covering data ingestion, transformation, storage and delivery across a variety of environments. You'll work closely with software engineers, systems engineers, architects and stakeholders to deliver high-quality data capabilities while contributing to platform performance, reliability and continuous improvement initiatives.
This position offers exposure to modern data engineering practices, distributed processing technologies, cloud platforms and containerised environments while supporting the delivery of complex technical solutions.
Skills & Experience:
- Experience developing and supporting data engineering solutions in production environments.
- Strong Python development skills with the ability to build maintainable, high-quality software.
- Experience developing and maintaining ETL, ELT or data integration pipelines.
- Strong SQL skills and experience working with relational databases.
- Understanding of data modelling, data architecture and data management principles.
- Experience with distributed data processing technologies such as PySpark.
- Knowledge of data quality, validation and cleansing techniques.
- Experience working within Agile or modern software development environments.
- Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
- Experience with containerisation technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes is desirable.
- Exposure to cloud-based data platforms and services is highly regarded.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Australian Citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a Government Security Clearance.
