A major government cloud transformation program is seeking a Cloud Platform & Infrastructure Domain Lead to provide technical leadership, architectural governance and delivery oversight across Azure platform services, core infrastructure, identity, compute, storage and migration tooling.
This role shapes secure, scalable Azure foundations aligned with ASD ISM, PSPF, Essential Eight and accreditation frameworks, while guiding engineering teams and supporting large‑scale migration activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead architecture and evolution of Azure landing zones and platform services
- Define guardrails, patterns and reusable Terraform modules
- Oversee VMware workload integration and Azure Migrate adoption
- Provide delivery oversight across compute, storage, identity, monitoring and governance
- Ensure IaC delivery using Terraform and GitLab CI/CD
- Enable migration tooling and support wave planning and readiness
- Embed security‑by‑design and ensure compliance with government frameworks
- Engage with stakeholders, vendors and cross‑domain teams
- Mentor engineers and uplift cloud capability
Essential Skills & Experience
- NV1 clearance is Essential
- Extensive Azure platform and infrastructure design experience
- Strong VMware, Azure Migrate, Terraform and GitLab CI/CD expertise
- Deep understanding of Azure identity, compute, storage and governance
- Proven leadership in large‑scale cloud migration programs
- Strong knowledge of ASD ISM, Essential Eight, IRAP and PSPF
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
Desirable
- Microsoft certifications (AZ‑305, AZ‑500, AZ‑104, AZ‑700)
- Experience in Protected or national security environments
- Automation‑at‑scale experience
