Change & Release Manager – ICT | 12-Month Contract | Hybrid Work – ACT

We’re currently seeking an experienced Change & Release Manager to join a high-impact government project team delivering complex ICT transformation work. This 12-month contract offers a hybrid arrangement, with work based out of the ACT (typically 3 days in-office, 2 days from home).

Security clearance: Must hold NV1 clearance (Negative Vetting Level 1) or above.
Location: Canberra-based candidates preferred. Remote not considered.
Start: ASAP – shortlisted roles close quickly.

About the Role:
This position plays a central role in managing the lifecycle of change and release processes across a large-scale ICT program. You’ll be embedded in a quality-focused team responsible for transition-to-service and test management activities—ensuring reliable, consistent ICT services are deployed across secure government environments.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Lead and manage Change and Release Management processes aligned with ITIL practices

  • Develop and refine change and release frameworks, procedures, and implementation plans

  • Liaise across business and technical teams to ensure governance and alignment

  • Manage risk assessments, post-implementation reviews, and service improvement plans

  • Maintain oversight of change logs, CAB decisions, and stakeholder communication

  • Coordinate releases and deployment scheduling with assurance of test readiness

  • Support toolset automation and interface improvements across change and release processes

What We’re Looking For:

  • Strong working knowledge of ITIL-based release/change management

  • Experience working across high-security ICT environments

  • Proven stakeholder management and communication skills

  • A strategic mindset with a focus on continuous improvement

  • Ability to influence, guide, and drive change across diverse teams

Key Technical Skills:

  • ITIL 4 Foundation certification(Essential)

  • Additional desirable certs:

    • ITIL 4 Specialist – Create, Deliver and Support

    • ITIL 4 High Velocity IT (HVIT)

    • ITIL 4 Practitioner – Release Management

    • DevOps Foundation (DOFD)

    SFIA Levels Aligned:

    • Release and Deployment – Level 6

    • Change Control – Level 6

    • Measurement, Tools & Organisational Development – Level 5

    • Specialist Technical Advice – Level 4
