About the Role
An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Business Process Analyst to join a major process improvement initiative within the higher education sector. This project aims to transform a complex, multi-team software risk and compliance workflow—reducing manual effort, increasing transparency, and enhancing operational efficiency across procurement, privacy, security, legal, records management, and finance functions.
You’ll play a central role in redesigning processes, mapping workflow improvements, and supporting the introduction of automation and AI-enabled solutions.
What You Will Be Doing
In this role, you will:
- Lead stakeholder engagement across a wide range of business and technical teams to capture and analyse requirements.
- Produce high-quality process documentation, mapping, and redesign aligned with BPMN and industry best practice.
- Act as the link between business stakeholders, solution architects, UX designers, engineers, and project managers.
- Critically analyse information from multiple sources to inform solution options and ensure alignment with organisational standards.
- Support the development of project deliverables through analysis and quality assurance.
- Assist with testing phases and collaborate with developers and testers to validate solutions.
- Ensure compliance with governance, data standards, and quality assurance frameworks.
- Contribute to identifying automation opportunities, cost-benefit analysis, and risk assessments.
- Help drive enhancements including automated claims, consolidated invoicing, AI-enabled reporting, and improved approval pathways.
To succeed, you’ll bring:
- Proven experience in business process analysis, redesign, and mapping—ideally with exposure to finance-related processes.
- Strong ability to rapidly elicit, document, and prioritise business requirements.
- Experience producing process artefacts using BPMN standards.
- Excellent analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to work across diverse stakeholder groups.
- Familiarity with governance frameworks and standard operating procedures.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and work within agreed timeframes.
- High attention to detail and a collaborative working style.
- Experience with tools such as Jira and Zephyr for tracking and test management.
- Experience in the higher education sector or similarly complex environments.
- Exposure to process automation, workflow tools, or AI-driven process improvement initiatives.
- Strong understanding of software procurement, risk assessment, or compliance workflows.
