In collaboration with the Queensland State Government, Emanate Technology is looking for a skilled Business Analyst to join a part-time engagement (3 days per week) focused on enhancing the user experience and operational efficiency of a major public-facing service. You’ll be part of a team modernising service management, improving systems, and driving value through improved processes, data-driven planning, and stakeholder collaboration.

What you’ll be doing

  • Scoping current systems, workflows, and architecture to establish a baseline for improvement
  • Mapping business processes to highlight inefficiencies, risks, and opportunities
  • Participating in solution workshops with external vendors to capture critical requirements
  • Facilitating communication between business units and technical teams to support project clarity
  • Supporting planning activities, governance deliverables, and overall delivery milestones
  • Assisting with the preparation of test scenarios, documentation, and user testing
  • Conducting analysis to measure expected value and benefits from proposed improvements
  • Reviewing operational data to inform financial planning and lifecycle investment models

What you need to bring
  • Demonstrated capability delivering business and functional requirements in complex environments
  • A track record of delivering clear, user-focused process documentation
  • Success delivering stakeholder collaboration that drives aligned outcomes
  • Proven ability delivering project deliverables using platforms like JIRA, Visio, or Confluence
  • Confidence delivering outputs across Agile, Waterfall, and hybrid project frameworks
  • Strength in delivering business outcomes that support strategic initiatives
  • Familiarity delivering user testing support, including test case and scenario development
  • Background delivering structured documentation that ensures traceability and clarity

Bonus points for…
  • Prior involvement delivering change initiatives alongside transition or readiness teams
  • Proficiency delivering interactive workshops to support solution exploration
  • Expertise delivering process models in BPMN or equivalent frameworks
  • Insight delivering business case inputs including cost-benefit and TCO modelling
  • Exposure delivering outcomes in public sector or large-scale service environments
