About the Role Emanate Technology is seeking a skilled  Business Analyst  to join a newly established directorate focused on information governance and digital enablement. This role supports a major infrastructure division managing assets valued at over $40 billion and a capital works budget of $2.2 billion annually.

You’ll be part of a collaborative, Agile team working on a two-year program of work to uplift data quality, streamline business processes, and deliver impactful reporting products. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to meaningful change in a maturing and evolving environment.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Partnering with stakeholders to define reporting and dashboard requirements, including MVPs and data sources.
  • Facilitating workshops, wireframing, and validation sessions to refine specifications.
  • Documenting user stories and acceptance criteria to guide development teams.
  • Supporting UAT preparation, data reconciliation, and business acceptance activities.
  • Assisting with transition of products to BAU support and contributing to as-built documentation.
  • Diagnosing information challenges and recommending practical improvements.
  • Promoting information governance practices such as metadata standards and data ownership.
  • Helping shape repeatable methods for capturing and refining business requirements.
What You Will Bring
  • 5+ years’ experience as a Business Analyst, ideally within Queensland Government.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex ideas.
  • Proven experience eliciting and documenting requirements for data-driven products.
  • Ability to produce clear specifications including user stories, wireframes, and mock-ups.
  • Agile experience (essential); certification (desirable).
  • Familiarity with tools such as SQL Server, Power BI, or similar (advantageous).
  • Experience with asset management data disciplines (advantageous).
Bonus Points For
  • Experience working in large-scale infrastructure or asset management environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to support data reconciliation and business acceptance processes.
  • Familiarity with Lean methodologies and product-based delivery approaches.
  • Experience contributing to information governance uplift initiatives.
  • Ability to work effectively within multi-disciplinary teams including data engineers, SAP specialists, and change managers.
