Emanate Technology are seeking two Workforce Reporting / BI specialists to help deliver a significant uplift of a national organisation’s workforce reporting environment. This program involves rebuilding, rationalising, and modernising a large suite of Power BI dashboards and people‑data assets.
Australian citizenship is required due to the nature of the project and future clearance pathways.
The Opportunity
The organisation is transitioning from 90+ legacy dashboards to a streamlined, governed reporting ecosystem. These 12‑month contract roles (senior + mid/senior) offer meaningful work, strong business support, and genuine future permanent opportunities.
What You’ll Do
- Work in a newly formed Workforce reporting team put together to modernise and rebuild existing systems.
- Rebuild and modernise 40+ core Power BI dashboards; rationalise 90+ legacy reports.
- Redefine metrics and measures aligned to a data governance framework.
- Deliver statutory, executive, SLT and operational workforce reporting.
- Design scalable people‑data models and SQL‑based logic.
- Integrate data from multiple HR/workforce systems (IFS, Chris21, PageUp, etc.).
- Implement role‑based access, RLS, data masking and sensitive‑data controls.
- Align reporting to correct source‑of‑truth systems; reduce duplication.
- Partner with P&C, Capability, Supply Chain, IT, DevOps and Data Engineering.
- Lead workshops, clarify requirements, run UAT and manage go‑live cycles.
- Challenge requests constructively and guide stakeholders to governed solutions.
- Evolving environment—systems and models are maturing; strong appetite for improvement.
Must‑Haves
- Strong BI background with Power BI rebuilds and dashboard rationalisation.
- Exposure to the Microsoft BI stack (SSRS, SSIS, SSAS) and broader MS ecosystem.
- Integrating data from HR/workforce systems.
- Solid SQL capability; able to interpret and refine logic.
- Workforce/ Human capital‑data and dashboards experience.
- Understanding of governance, permissions, RLS, masking, encryption.
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement; confident pushing back.
- Microsoft stack: Power Query, Power Automate, Power Apps.
- Azure familiarity.
- Experience in complex organisations (defence, education, finance, public sector).
- Exposure to DevOps or IT engineering teams.
- 12‑month contract.
