About the Role
As an Azure Cloud Engineer, you’ll be responsible for designing and maintaining modern cloud environments that underpin critical applications and data platforms. You’ll work closely with developers, data scientists, researchers, and industry partners to operationalise digital tools, AI workflows, and secure data solutions.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on engineering, problem‑solving, and contributing to strategic cloud initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain resilient Azure environments supporting digital health, analytics, and research workloads.
- Develop Infrastructure‑as‑Code solutions (Terraform) and CI/CD pipelines to automate deployment and provisioning.
- Enable AI/ML services, APIs, analytics platforms, and secure data pipelines.
- Collaborate with technical teams and researchers to operationalise digital tools and cloud workflows.
- Implement best practices across identity, access, monitoring, backup, and disaster recovery.
- Provide technical input into infrastructure planning, optimisation, and cloud governance.
- Monitor performance, reliability, and cost efficiency across cloud environments.
- Maintain clear technical documentation and system architecture records.
- Minimum three years’ experience in cloud engineering, infrastructure deployment, or DevOps.
- Strong background in Microsoft Azure and cloud‑native infrastructure.
- Experience with Terraform or similar IaC tools, and CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps).
- Exposure to AI/ML deployment, MLOps, data engineering, or secure platform operations.
- Experience in digital health, research infrastructure, or similar environments.
- Relevant certifications such as Azure Solutions Architect or Azure DevOps Engineer.
- Knowledge of AKS/Kubernetes.
- Experience with Azure AI Landing Zone design.
- Full‑time role based in Canberra.
- AFP check required; no security clearance needed.
