Emanate Technology is proud to partner with a National Microsoft partner on a large applications modernisation program for Federal Government. Due to the sensitive nature of the work, all roles require AGSVA security clearance(NV1 or above) and must be performed in Canberra.
We are looking for experienced Applications professionals cross multiple disciplines and SFIA levels, including:
- Senior Application Architect
- Application Architect
- Lead Application Developer
- Application Tester
- Application Developer (Multiple)
Core Development & Technology Environment
You’ll work within an advanced environment that may include:
- .NET Framework / .NET Core, Classic ASP
- Java (Spring Boot or similar)
- PHP (Laravel, Symfony, or vanilla) and WordPress custom development
- Azure Cloud services (App Services, Functions, Kubernetes / AKS)
- REST APIs, OAuth & Azure AD authentication, third-party integrations
- CI/CD & DevOps: Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Jenkins
- Scripting & automation: PowerShell, Bash, Python
- Testing: xUnit, JUnit, PHPUnit, plus integration and regression testing
- Agile collaboration tools: Confluence, Azure DevOps Boards
- Design, build, deploy and modernise secure applications and services
- Develop and integrate APIs, microservices, and cloud-native solutions
- Automate deployments and streamline release processes using CI/CD tools
- Support cloud migrations and modernisation of legacy systems
- Collaborate within cross-functional agile teams to deliver high-quality outcomes
- Produce clear technical documentation and contribute to design discussions
- Troubleshoot, test, and maintain software to ensure strong security and scalability
- 8–10+ years in software engineering, cloud engineering or systems engineering roles
- Hands-on experience with modern development stacks (.NET, Java, PHP) and cloud platforms (Azure)
- Proven track record in modernisation and transformation programs
- Strong understanding of secure coding practices, authentication, and API integration
- Experience working in agile teams and using tools like Azure DevOps and Confluence
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Developer Associate (or equivalent) highly desirable
- Experience in complex cloud migration projects or federal government environments
- Familiarity with containerisation (e.g., Kubernetes, Docker)
- Certification in security, cloud, or DevOps disciplines
- Broader experience across data engineering or analytics pipelines
- Strong problem-solving mindset and critical thinking skills
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to work effectively in high-security environments and complex stakeholder settings
- Proactive approach to continuous learning and adopting new technologies
Australian Citizen
AGSVA NV1 Security Clearance or higher (essential)
