This role sits within a national cultural organisation responsible for preserving and presenting Australia’s military history. The technology function underpins everything from public digital experiences to internal collection workflows, delivering secure, modern and reliable systems that keep the institution running. The Digital Applications & Cloud Operations Administrator oversees a suite of enterprise and collection‑related platforms, ensuring key applications, databases and cloud services remain stable, secure and continuously improved. Working across business teams, vendors and technical specialists, the position manages day‑to‑day operations, system enhancements, integrations, upgrades and documentation aligned with government standards and organisational strategy.
Role Focus
- Maintain and enhance core business and collection applications, including cloud‑hosted and SaaS platforms.
- Own the technical lifecycle of assigned systems: configuration, releases, vendor coordination, monitoring and operational support.
- Manage data flows and integrations across applications, databases, cloud services and enterprise systems.
- Apply government security frameworks and organisational policies to ensure applications remain compliant and protected.
- Produce and maintain documentation, support procedures and ITSM artefacts across incidents, problems, changes and standard operations.
- Coordinate upgrades across applications, databases and supporting infrastructure, ensuring alignment with security and vendor best practice.
- Provide clear reporting and communication to senior leaders, stakeholders and end users.
- Experience with enterprise databases (SQL Server, Oracle), application administration and support.
- Familiarity with collection or digital asset systems (e.g., MuseumPlus, Piction) or equivalent platforms.
- Scripting and automation skills, particularly PowerShell.
- Integration experience across APIs, middleware, ETL processes and data migration activities.
- Strong working knowledge of Azure and M365 services including identity, authentication, monitoring, storage, SQL MI and security controls.
- Proven experience administering enterprise applications, managing upgrades, troubleshooting issues, supporting users and coordinating vendors.
- Demonstrated capability delivering integrations, automation and data movement across corporate systems.
- Background supporting ICT services in regulated or government environments, including incident, change, release and continuity processes.
- Ability to work with diverse stakeholders to deliver enhancements, improvements and project outcomes while balancing competing priorities.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to produce clear technical and non‑technical documentation.
