A high‑performance trading technology environment is looking for a skilled support specialist to join its Sydney team. This full‑time role suits someone who thrives in fast‑moving technical operations and enjoys working directly with clients to keep mission‑critical systems running smoothly.
What the Role Involves
You’ll be part of the frontline technical response team, handling real‑time operational issues and guiding clients through system behaviour, configuration, and deployment activities. Your work spans everything from diagnosing trading‑related anomalies to rolling out new client environments.
Key responsibilities include:
• Responding to client queries through multiple communication channels
• Acting as the first point of escalation for technical incidents across network, OS, and application layers
• Investigating logs, message flows, and data sources to pinpoint the cause of trading or pricing issues
• Planning and delivering new client setups from initial scoping to hands‑on deployment
• Configuring system components such as routing rules, connectivity settings, and platform integrations
• Managing upgrades, migrations, and post‑deployment validation
• Participating in a rotating weekend support roster
What You’ll Bring:
• Ability to juggle multiple client interactions while making sound decisions under pressure
• A genuine appetite for learning new tools, technologies, and problem‑solving approaches
• Advanced proficiency with Windows operating systems
• 2–5 years of experience supporting technology within financial markets
• Familiarity with trade execution workflows and market data behaviour
• Understanding of FIX protocol
• Exposure to MetaTrader 4/5
• Foundational knowledge of networking (TCP/IP)
• Basic SQL skills (MySQL or PostgreSQL)
